Our People

KDJ’s principals and senior managers collectively have 150-plus years of experience creating and managing complex, successful advertising, marketing and public relations programs, primarily for financial and corporate clients.

Tom Score
President – KDJ Advertising, LLC

For over 20 years, Tom Score has managed advertising for some of the world’s largest, most prestigious financial firms, among them Goldman Sachs, PaineWebber, Sandler O’Neill & Partners, and Keefe, Bruyette & Woods. His work has included oversight of nationwide branding campaigns, sophisticated websites, direct-response marketing, public relations programs, major trade show installations, and many other initiatives.

Among his career landmarks:

  • Managing and directing North Fork Bank’s entry into the NYC/Metro market through branding strategy and new product introductions, raising North Fork’s industry profile and setting the stage for North Fork’s eventual purchase by Capital One
  • The national rollout of the FEMA Flood Insurance Program
  • Rebranding of Sandler O’Neill after September 11
  • A national campaign to establish ProTrader Securities as the leader in electronic trading – a positioning that resulted in the company’s sale to Instinet for $152 million

Dan O’Connell

Dan O’Connell has 28 years of experience in the creation and management of media relations, branding, corporate image, issues management, thought leadership and employee communications campaigns. Most recently, Dan founded and served as president of public relations agency Kodora Communications LLC, where he created and managed programs for clients that included category leaders such as Alliance Capital and Computer Associates, as well as smaller niche companies and startups.

Previously, Dan headed the New York office of Shandwick USA, the then-largest independent global public relations agency, which managed programs for such clients as KPMG Peat Marwick, MasterCard, Microsoft, Sharp Electronics and Eastman Kodak. Earlier in his career, he served as the #2 corporate communications executive at Met Life, overseeing both external and internal programs, and also worked in the communications departments at Avon Products and E.F.
